Hot Rocks Project - Make Paperweight for Dad!

Here is a fun Father's Day project for kids from Wisecraft called Hot Rocks. Go on a little hunt with the kids and find some rocks that have a smooth, flat surface. Heat the rocks in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes (on a foil lined cookie sheet).  While they are heating, have your kids get busy tearing the paper off of crayons they plan to color/paint on the rocks with. Give each child a set of potholders so they can handle the hot rocks. Lay the rocks out on a protected surface like newspaper and get busy "painting" the rocks! The crayons melt and the resulting color is very vivid - you can even use the "glittery" crayons for a sparkly effect. They turn out really cool! I'm sure Dad would love one of these on his desk. No one in the world will have one exactly like it. It's a one-of-a-kind masterpiece!
