Homemade Fun!

Here are some things you can make or do this summer that cost very little!
  • Make Bubbles: Mix 2/3 cup Dawn dishwashing detergent, a tablespoon of glycerin and a gallon of water. That should last a while!
  • Make Paper Planes: Visit FunPaperAirplanes.com or BuildPaperAirplanes.com for ideas and patterns.
  • Go Fly a Kite: Take the kids to a park or ball field on a windy day and fly a kite you made yourself! For ideas, visit HowToMakeAndFlyKites.com.
  • Backyard Camp Out: Small tents are inexpensive or make your own using sheets and blankets. Have a fun family night of board games, singing songs and reading books with a flashlight.
  • Family Movie Night: Sleeping bags on the floor, popcorn and some rented DVD's are all you need to have a really fun night.
  • Picnic: Even on the living room floor on a rainy day, lunch or dinner away from the table is always a treat for the kids.
