Do-It-Yourself Wall Art

I have a lot of walls to fill up in my house so I like to come up with inexpensive (and cool) ways to make my own artwork. I can actually paint and draw but don't have a lot of time to do that right now. This is an idea that anybody can do, even if you are a little artistically challenged!

First, look around for some frames you like. You can find them at the dollar store or on sale at craft stores. I found these at Michaels on sale for $1.99. I bought 5 frames.

Then, go to the scrapbook paper section of the craft store. You will find all kinds of beautiful paper in all colors and styles. Pick out 5 sheets that color coordinate with the room you are decorating. I got these 5 sheets for 50 cents each.

Remove the cardboard frame and trace around it on your piece on each piece of paper.

This will give you the exact size of paper that will fit into your frame.

Repeat these steps until you have all the frames done. And you have created beautiful wall art!!! The whole project cost $12.50. Easy, cheap and very stylish!

Cute idea. It's making me laugh - because you can paint. Me too, but my house is devoid of cute art.

My studio is piled high with paintings, laying about. Think I'd hang them up? Nah. Just all over the place. Cobbler's kids, you know.

Your project, however, is something even I can handle!

So cute! I have some of these in my house and I love to change out the paper with the seasons and the best part is that it is cheap to do! They look great!

I was google searching images of melt and pour soap and i saw one of these images pop up (weird, right?). Funny thing is, is that I just did a blog on DIY framing fabric! I really enjoyed this post. Didn't think of using scrap booking paper, thanks for the idea! easy to do, and a super cheap way to create art for your home. Love it...and your blog. Thanks!
